Hey y’all! I have been in Italy for 5 weeks and have been constantly doing something for most of it. I can’t wait to write about all of my adventures in each of the cities I visited before and then now everything that has happened (and will happen) during my time in Milan. However, as the title tells you this is about how I celebrated the 4th while in Italy!
To start of the day we (the other 3 girls in my program, let’s call them K, C and R, and I) had our class and then went to our apartments to freshen up before meeting up for dinner closer to the city center. Our first week here we had seen a restaurant called United Tastes of Hamerica's and knew that was exactly where we HAD to go to celebrate the 4th. There are two parts to the restaurant, the first is an order to-go and the second is a sit down area. We chose to sit and enjoy the atmosphere which included red, white and blue banners decorating the walls and late 90s/early 2000s hits (we really appreciated the music choice). 😌
Now let’s get to the most important part: FOOD. K and C are vegetarian so they chose to get a veggie burger with french fries. R decided on a pulled pork sandwich, french fries and corn on the cob. I picked chicken nuggets and french fries and let me tell you they were GOOD. They were more like gourmet nugs because they were chicken breast cut into small pieces that had been fried. Hamerica’s even had bbq sauce, which I was delighted to see (and eat!). I love Italian food but I definitely miss the variety of food at home so getting to eat some good old fashion nugs and fries was the perfect way to celebrate.
Well, I’ll leave you off with craving some chicken nuggets and stay tuned for more of my Italy experiences!
XO,
Rose
