Travel Friendly Makeup Hacks

Bonjour y'all!

Sorry it's been a hot minute since we've posted, but Rose has finals coming up soon (good luck babe), and work has been wild the past couple weeks. Per the usual.

Anyway, I was thinking about different things that I take with me traveling to just generally make it simpler. Here are my favorite hacks!

-Coconut Oil. This is probably the one thing that I cannot live without, especially when I’m traveling. Now, it may seem pretty travel UNfriendly, since it most likely will get warm and melt and spill all over your precious suitcase, but just store it in an airtight container and a zip-lock baggy. You’ll be good to go! I’ve never had a coconut oil situation while traveling unless you count running OUT of it

I’ve used coconut oil as makeup remover for YEARS and it’s so much cheaper than buying makeup remover. I do keep wipes on hand usually, just for in a pinch.

But that’s off the subject.

Another use for Coconut Oil is if your hair gets dry you can do an overnight hair mask. I usually just work some into my roots, and cover my ends. It's an awesome deep conditioner.

Forget to pack your favorite face mask? No big deal.

Trust me, this is my Holy Grail for a reason.

-Activated Charcoal. This is a pretty cheap hack, and something I always have on hand, especially when traveling! Bulletproof is a great brand to get off Amazon.

Remember that face mask I mentioned? Mix a little Activated Charcoal and Coconut Oil, and Voila! No more stressing about those zits you always get while traveling.

-Dry Shampoo. Let’s be real, every girl needs some good dry shampoo in her life, especially when you’re too busy to wash your hair. I know I don’t ever have time to wash my hair when I’m traveling. My favorite brand is Batiste, but if you’re traveling with a carry-on that won’t work. 2 options are to either just pack baby powder, or buy some once you’re at your destination. Travel sized usually works best, because you won't need a full sized unless you're there for like 3 months...

-Makeup. Keep it simple and minimal. If you don’t have time to wash your hair, you don’t have an hour to spend on your makeup. Some concealer and bronzer thrown on top of a primer with some light lipstick and eyeshadow and done!

Here’s what I pack:

Naked2 Basics Palette- This is the only palette I will travel with. It has 5 shades, so it’s the perfect size. Plus it’s Urban Decay so it’s a great quality palette, and has very transitional shades.

Mario Badescu Rosewater Spray- Y’all have been around long enough you know mine and Rose’s obsession with this spray. If you haven’t, then you can read here and here and here... yeah we like this product.

Naked Skin Concealer- This is my favorite concealer I’ve come across so far. It even tops NARS for me (sorry). They have a travel sized available for $12!

The Body Shop Bronzer- The medium matte shade works very well with my skin tone! It gives just a nice honey bronze glow.

KylieCosmetics Exposed Liquid Lipstick- I usually prefer a more casual nude lip, so this one suits my travel makeup look.

Tea Tree Mattifying Lotion- This doubles as an emergency lotion if your coconut oil isn’t working out for you, but I use it as a primer! My skin feels so nice after I put it on🤗

That's usually all I pack for makeup! I prefer to save some suitcase space, just in case. Plus it's not like you can't buy any thing at your destination. I've been known not to even pack shampoo and conditioner, and just buy it overseas.

I'm trying to avoid situations like this.

XO,

Reece
