Alright, friends. Here’s today’s adventure:
Recently I made an order to Romwe. I’ve been curious for a while, just never made the plunge and placed an order. I wanted to be able to give you guys an idea (or maybe just a laugh) of what to expect from their products. I tried to order a mix of things to get a fair idea of quality. It’s one of those “sketchy online stores” that people tend not to trust because the clothes are so cheap. Like, so cheap! I spent $60 and got 8 pieces, so an average of $7.50 per piece after tax.
-First piece! I was so excited about this off the shoulder floral top. It looks so cute on the model, and I love shirts like this. Pretty, but not too much, and very flattering. On the model. I opened the bag and pulled it out and surprise surprise. It was awful😂It could honestly be the cutest shirt but there is just way too much fabric happening. Also, the fabric is very see-through. I think we will be doing some serious remodeling of this top to try to rescue it. Edit: Okay so this one is growing on me. We’ll see how I feel about it in a week.
Wearing the Off the Shoulder Floral Top
-I love this black A-line skirt. Such a great price point for what you get. The fabric is actually pretty good quality, especially for paying less than $7 for it. The cut isn’t perfect, but I’m not going to complain about it. It could hold its own against much pricier skirts, and still not come in last. I will definitely be wearing this skirt often! Added bonus, it’s black so it goes with everything.
-I was a little unsure of these Tie Front Shorts but they looked pretty cute in the pictures, and like they would be nice to have for the summer, so I went ahead and purchased them. They are super cute on, but the fabric is pretty see-through so they need to be worn with something under them. Not going to complain because they were under $6. Completely worth it, especially considering the price point.
-This is such a cute Buttoned Tank Top! It’s a plain black top with just the buttons, but still so cute. It goes well with high waisted shorts or a skirt, and can be versatile with any type of jacket or even a chambray over it. This is a piece I’ll be wearing often. I really don’t have much else to say about it!
Wearing the Buttoned Tank Top and A-Line Skirt
-Clearly I was a little excited about this Wrap Front Tank Top as I ordered it in Burgundy and in Black. So it was probably the most disappointing when I opened it. Like the white floral top, it has too much fabric so it hangs weird off your body. With a little sewing I can probably make it work, but this is not at all what was on the picture. The front doesn’t wrap at all, and so it just hangs down and ends up looking like you’re barely wearing a shirt, which is not the look I was going for😜
- I apparently didn’t pay a lot of attention to this Criss Cross Tie Cami one before I ordered it, because I was expecting a lot more fabric when I opened it 😂At first I wasn’t going to mess with it at all, but then I thought I’d try to wear it just as a joke to send to Rose, but it ended up looking pretty cute. Not that I’ll ever wear this anywhere because let’s be real. This is barely even a shirt😂If this is your style I’d say go for it. Cute, flattering, and pretty good quality of fabric. You have to string it all together as it doesn’t come like that, but it only took a few minutes. Good luck figuring out how to hang it in your closet.
-I also ordered a LBD, just to see. The dress is sold out online so the link doesn’t work. Can’t ever go wrong with these, right?? Wrong. Everyone else who ordered it will probably be just as shocked as I was when I opened it and found a cami and a half. It’s barely a dress. It’s made out of spandex so it’s too tight, but I think it will look cute worn as a top paired with a jean skirt.
Okay, so what’s the verdict? Is Romwe worth it? In my opinion, out of 8 pieces, we were 50/50. Like I said, I tried to get a good mix of items, so it’s up to your discretion. Some of these are great, some are not. I’ll be working on them a bit so I’ll keep you updated👍
XO,
Reece
