8 Travel Apps You Need to Make Your Life Easier

Hello Friends!

Apps are my FAVORITE thing to use as extra resources to travel. For finding a great deal on travel, talk to your Travel Agent! Don't have a Travel Agent? Check out www.ciatravel.com, or shoot me a message at clarice@ciatravelgroup.com! But as far as preparing for your trip?? Here are my favorite resources to use both before and during your trip, whether you're road-tripping to the Grand Canyon, or traipsing across Europe.

Check it out!

  • DuoLingo

This is a great app to download before your trip if you’re going somewhere where you don’t speak the language. It’s free to use, and has 15 languages including Spanish, French, German and Russian. I’m currently using it to learn French! It’s super easy to navigate, and you can even test out of levels if you already know some of the language.

  • Google Translate

For all those times you can’t remember how to ask how to go to the bathroom in German, whip out Google Translate and simply type in the phrase you need and it will translate away! No more awkward mumbling or hand motions😅

  • PackPoint

This is for anyone who can never decide how to pack or who overpacks like you’re never coming home! Simply type in your destination, when and how long you’ll be there, and a few activities you’ll be doing.

For example, I put in Milan in July for 15 days, and I wanted to take some pictures while I was there. It even includes things like your power adapters, tampons, and extra socks!

  • XE Currency

This was a life saver, especially when I was in London! You set which currency you have, and which one you need to see what it would be, and voila! No more guessing. It updates in real time, so as soon as an exchange rate changes, it’s in the app.

  • DropBox

Such a lifesaver. Keep your credit card and Passport numbers handy, . It’s secure and easy to upload and keep on hand at all times! Bonus: store your passwords for work and personal life in DropBox as well. You can keep everything organized and separated😁

  • Citymapper

If carrying paper maps with you are more your style, we can talk about that. For everyone else, this is your app! You can download city maps right to your phone, so you can see them without using data (so great for international travel). It updates in real time with traffic and public transportation updates. You can even just use it to avoid work traffic on your commute home.

  • Evernote

I love using Evernote to store my Itinerary! You can share your notebook with a friend or family member right from the app. So much easier than trying to carry around a paper itinerary, and much easier to share. You can keep them after you're home for future reference. No more looking for old loose sheets of paper, or trying to remember where you filed all that old trip paperwork.

  • TravelMath

Ever wondered how much your trip was going to cost? Not sure how long it's going to take to get from point A to point B? Here's your answer. This is best for road-trips, but you can also use it for flights. Just punch in where you are and where you want to go, put in what MPG your car gets, and how expensive gas is, and you've got it! So easy to use.

Hope you found some great tips!

XO,

Reece
